Greetings all, After a month of computer problems I am back up kind of? Anyway I logged onto the server which for some reason lost my password, I reset it. Now I can log in but when I try to get on one of the multiplayer servers it shows a pop up saying my CD Key is invalid. Nothing on the hard drive has been changes as far as I know. Has anyone seen this error or knows how to fix this. I have B2 withdrawal.

Sounds like your computer problems created some registry errors, Dice stores your CD Key in the registry and it's obviously gotten corrupted.
Have you tryed reinstalling bf2 ?
If not then thats probaly gonna fix the key error, If your worried about the maps and the mods you already have like alot of people do then, just go to Program Files\EA Games\Battlefield 2 and then rename the folder called mods to mods2 this will keep the uninstaller from uninstalling your mods becuz they were never installed in that directory, then uninstall Battlefield 2 then reinstall Battlefield 2 and after it's done delete the new mods folder that the installer created and then rename the mods2 folder back to mods and your good to go :)
Hey man,
I was having the exact same problem with one of my computers, and all I ended up having to do was go into the registry and manually re-enter the CD key. Here is the link to the EA support page (http://support.ea.com/cgi-bin/ea.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=11696&p_created=1144797801&p_sid=DnULOZWj&p_accessibility=0&p_redirect=&p_lva=&p_sp=cF9zcmNoPTEmcF9zb3J0X2J5PSZwX2dyaWRzb3J0PSZwX 3Jvd19jbnQ9MjIwLDIyMCZwX3Byb2RzPTcsMTM4OCZwX2NhdHM 9MCZwX3B2PTIuMTM4OCZwX2N2PSZwX3BhZ2U9MQ**&p_li=&p_topview=1) that I got got the solution from with all of the steps incase you are unsure.
Hope this helps and I look forward to fighting along side you,
Vhaupt

THIS WILL GET ALL EA Reg Keys out of your Reg........ Now you can re-install... I got this directly from EA Support and I've used it twice

Word of advice... Set a system restore point and back up files before you edit the registry.

First of all EA advise is as follows ---> Invalid CD KEY message means simply user can remove BF2 trademark from reg. Restore point is'nt full proof sometimes game directory will not/can not
be recovered (fact). When that happens your stuck with Restored nothing. As for Modified content error message.... EA's answer is Installation and or patching done out of order
This way is much faster and always works

LOL you guys I'm not a rookie on this, Thankyou much for all the input though very nice clan Team-Nitro is.

One more piece of info...... Just reinstalling bf2 for Invalid-CD KEY won't work everytime cause of the BF2 TM key value in reg. needs to be removed then reinstalled. Notice that your cd-key
may not be same characters in all instances EA puts (x9296) in front of your CD-KEY in reg or it entirely diff. than your input. Now if you doubt this stuff I got it from EA Support I have only had
to do this ohhh maybe 4 times in 5 years ... so a huge thanks to you TEAM-NITRO for your feedback !!
