Downloads?????

In the process of downloading this from project reality site but its very slow,im using the uk mirror and that was nearly 2 hours to download part 1,Gamershell.com doesnt have the v0.9 mod just the 0.85,anybody got any suggestions?????

i went into the db mirror which is in US and thats alot quicker for me?Think maybe clicking on different mirrors and seeing what one is fastest for you is best bet...

I had downloaded it once from one of the USA sites but ended up with corrupted files (didn't use a download manager I guess) so I went ahead and downloaded bittorrent and used that to download the torrent files. Seemed to work fine.

Also allowed me to download at my max bandwidth.

Yea the torrents usually have less of a chance of getting corrupted. There recommended for these long, long, long downloads, and you always have the option of stopping the download and starting it back up whenever you need too.

As far as places to download maps, mods, etc.. I still like Filefront the best... I usually get good, dependable, and fast downloads there.

Ok well it downloaded fine,thanks for all your help,also when you install you have to "run as administrator" otherwise it wont do anything...Tea oot

I have chosen to download with the torrent format, I use BitComet v1.18
You have to register a user name to be able to get the faster speeds at downloading.

And here are the speeds I'm getting.

Not bad for 10Mb broadband :D
