I have a complaint about players who command and then do nothing to help the TEAM.
people like this should get kicked the first 2 times they do it then after that Ban the little swines.
People who take on the role of commander should do just that and command and not use the commander skills as their own personal assistants in the game
One such player is
"joeroche"
just played 2 maps with him as a commander and all he did was use the skill points for his own personal gain (SO MUCH FOR TEAM WORK!).
I just looked him up he is a NOOB or for those with a sense of humour remove one of the "O"'s

I know the problem, but for that BF2 gave you the opportunity to mutiny. (I don't know, how the english version call's this function). Do you tried this?

yes this is a problem that when admin are in normally will address if they are seeing the problem. mutiny is a good option otherwise. I will say that if I am in I will not vote for mutiny I will try to find out what is going on than warn and kick so it hopefully won't happen over and over. when people mutiny one thing that I see happen is the person on the other end doesn't get the reason why. this is partially because there are many times when I get in that someone is trying to mutiny this player or that because they either don't want a commander, don't get what they ask for when they ask for it (things do have to reload and others do ask for stuff too), or they want to be commander themselves. I know this probably doesn't help much with the frustration. as for admin "THEY ARE WATCHING A LOT OF TIMES WHEN OTHERS DON"T EVEN KNOW"

i agree with jen. although sometimes people simply vote no constantly, so a mutiny doesnt always work. unfortunatley, the only definite solution would be to warn then kick them.

I think the best way is to chat to them at first an warn them in written form so they have no excuses. Give them plenty of chances as it is no major issue but if they are running around as commander playing the game and not doing the job of a commander then they should not take that position.
I have seen a few players do this just so that they get the extra points at the end of the round, to me this is wrong and I for one class that as cheating.
mostly when they do not do the commander job. When I command all I will do is be a commander and not fight, you don't get enough time to fight as well as doing a commander job.

the general rule here is no fighting commanders but since the 1.5 patch we have been a little light one some things because we can't get resources without one. my rule of thumb is this for fighting commanders. if there is 3-5 players depending on the map and situation I normally allow fighting commanders because with only a couple in sometimes you need the supplies but you need the fighters also. if there are more than that playing or we only have one enemy flag left to take than the commanders just needs to command unless there are less than 3 in the game. if the commander is defending the back flag (not that he shouldn't call in reinforcements (but I find a lot of times players either don't squad up or don't follow instructions) this is okay in my opinion because I would rather not loose that flag. as for the extra points I have done some playing around a couple of mornings to see what really is up with the points and you don't have to worry because in every case I was commander and playing I lost a lot of points that I would have had if I wasn't commander (I had less points total than I would have if I would have just played and had the score I did). the biggest problem is that a fighting commander can't be as effective as a commander and provide everything needed because they are getting killed and have to wait to be respawned. it is a misconception that they get extra points....that is the good news:)

Most of the time in fight for me it's totally impossible, to notice a message that's addressed to me in chat because there are too many messages wich scrolls too fast to read during the fight.
Warning and kicking seems to be the only way, if the player doesn't understand mutiny.

If you are a commander, then you don't get points for kills. Also, only commander points double, so getting the commander slot at near the end of a round will not double your total score.

Commanders should do their job no matter what, and if they're fighting and a squad needs supplies and or spotting enemy they're not doing their job in supporting the squads, the only time a commander is needed is if there is a small amount of players as Jen stated, and if help is needed then they can move in to help fight, but if they're are enough players, commanders are not need but to only offer support when the time is needed.
This was mentioned many times before the web crashed, maybe they're should be a topic as what the commanders job consist of again.

I'm with you on that billy but my moan is the fact that we get players that go as commander (NOOBS MAINLY) then play the game as normal and think they are going to get X2 score even though we know they will not.
And to top it all off will not do the job they took on. I asked and asked until i was dead 3 times over and still he did nothing there was only me and him there, I would have done the job if I had of known what he was going to do.
And as for mutiny you need a minimum of 4 players for that to work most of the time if there are only 2 of you, you can not vote him out.
It's a shame that noobs do not read as it states at the top of the screen commanders have to command.

Baggy's right again - Goddam he's a smart guy. When commander - you don't get combat points, and at the end of the round only the commander's command points are doubled, so if you jump into the commander spot at the end of a round trying to double your score, I think you're actually losing points. I just wish people understood that and stopped doing it.
I think mutiny is the best solution, however getting enough people in the vanilla game to pay attention to what's going on is another story. A lot of players in the vanilla game don't know the game has a commander.

Ditto this is my point too.
NOOBS need to learn lol.
The funny thing is the NOOB that did it in the game that got me mad in the first.
He got over 100 kills and his score at the end was 158.
God did I piss me self laughing.... Poor little NOOB
player name is "joeroche" if you see him in the field please expand this noobs mind and tell him of his misadventures.
The more we educate the more they will understand afterall we are all students on this mortal coil.

well the noobs will either eventually get it by watching others by example or being warned or kicked. there are a few that don't get it even after a few times of this so further action may need to be taken but over all I would say most eventually learn it is just getting them to that point.

Personally, I think EA Games should have made the commander get sent into some kind of bunker or something so he can't go running around with toys at his disposal...maybe they'll do that for BF1943.

LOLOL Yes know those type of players well............... Put this message in mapload screen "Commanders that fight go bye bye" or "Commanders do your job or be kicked" then there is no excuse
for I did'nt know reply. I'm in top 700 commander score in BF2 vanilla (public) servers so I feel you pain and its major I know. I also have War College Ribbon. I just don't play Vanilla version much
these days. Banning people at drop of a hat just makes a clan look uncareing to other players that visit, KICK them for 5 days and tell them "children such as you get a time-out" I've seen a couple
of clans (mention no names at this time) that really disrespect visiting players as well as thier own members. Most clans are understanding and fair. NAW is one such clan showing respect to all who
visit. I've seen nothing but good from Team-Nitro myself and plan to come play with you nice people.

I like the bunker idea. I've received a call for supplies from a squad just before a got a knife in the back. Having to wait on a re spawning commander makes people testy & hurts the team. Good idea.
