Just wanted to send a little reminder in this fun and chaotic season that with all of the gift giving and receiving that will be taking place, it would be a nice time to remember your friendly [Team] servers. I know that things get busy and we forget or money is tight (totally understand this with being out of work since april). However, each of us receives enjoyment from all the hard work kil and trap put in here at Team Nitro and as a Christmas Present to them this month I think it would be nice to show our appreciation through providing enough money to float the server this month. I'm not saying everyone needs to put in $20 or $50 I"m just saying if we work as a TEAM than this shouldn't be a hard thing to accomplish. anything will help $5, $2 I'm not picky (some days;P ) Almost everynight I see the server full, in fact last night there were 16 players in and I just think what if each person helped at least a little it would relieve the pressure on kil during this season where he should be spending his time with family and instead he is spending it fixing a website and server for us. Let's work as a TEAM and see what we can accomplish.

I would love to help out but have no way of being able to make a payment.
I have no credit cards, infact no cards of any sort.
I only have a cash card and that only allows me to take cash out of whole in the walls.
If you know of a way please let me know I would gladly send you £5 to help you out.
Although money is tight right now I would help out as it is the main server I play, infact its the best god damn server.

I'm unemployed and it sucks! I feel bad I haven't contributed, but at the same time I hardly get any hours in on the servers. I'm lucky I got the $25 a month to pay my internet bill. Right now sucks for me, I sold my Yukon to pay debt off, and I'm repairing my truck. Its been expensive so far, and its still going. I got close to $700 in parts at this moment. I will be getting machine shop work done tomorrow, and its not cheap! lol Basically, I'm lucky I can even go online. I'm still going to try and send a donation this month. I'm just playing it by ear, as I might go real deep in to debt and wont know till I get farther into my engine/tranny swap. As for now, I still try and help/contribute on the site when I can.

Dear Deathgrinder,
Thank you very much for your support.
We will update your status as soon as we confirm your donation. Please be patient.

Appreciate the effort Scott, and the donation, but you know what - you're wasting your time. You're wasting your time because people just don't get it. They don't get it, and nothing you can say is going to make them get it. I was actually grateful that this thread had worked its way down so that I didn't have to see it anymore. Every once in awhile someone, usually me, makes one of these posts asking for some financial support from the players. I gave up asking because it never made a difference, but from time to time someone who actually gets it, like Jen, does the same thing, but the end result is always the same.
This thread is what ultimately brought me to the realization that I've just been doing this too long. I'm burned out. Most of us learn fairly early in life that there are certain times when you are better off just keeping your mouth shut, and this I'm sure is one of those times. Unfortunately, I've never been very good at keeping my mouth shut.
Everytime I've made one of these posts myself, I hear the same thing from the players: "Battlefield 2 has always been a free game and you want to make it 'pay to play'. If you do that people are going to stop playing." I have a news flash for all of you who think that way - Battlefield 2 has always been pay to play, it's just not the players who are paying, and everytime someone asks them to they act like you just asked them to cut off their right arm.
Everytime someone makes a donation to the server fund, I get a pm informing me of the donation. I get about 6 of those pm's each month, from the half dozen or so people here who actually get it. On the other hand, I get about 6 pm's per day explaining to me how "So an So ran over my foot with the tank and then didn't even say they were sorry!" Get a clue people. A half dozen players out of 300 or so who play in the vanilla game each day. Pretty sad odds.
Each month the bills for the servers come in, and each month they get paid, wether I have enough money in my checking account to pay them or not, and usually it's not. I don't have it any better than any of you, so just once I'd like to come to the forum and explain in one of these posts that my dog just had a colonoscopy and money's a little tight this month, but you know what? I don't have that option, but I also have no one to blame for this but myself. Everyday more and more people play here, and more people means more player slots, more games, and more money. I always convince myself to spend the more money because I keep telling myself that of all these new players, some of them are going to get it.
. . . . and then they don't.
Quite honestly, the fun went out of this for me a long, long time ago. Maybe I just needed to vent, but I don't think so because I don't feel much better now that I did.

Well people, its time to put up or shut up to put it bluntly. We have this site because several individuals (Founding Members) several years ago decided to set it up. We have one individual who is responsible for overseeing the whole thing and getting the bills paid as far as I understand things. (Hope I did not step on anyone's toes) This site has given me a lot of great times over the last 15 months. I would hate to repay Kil for that fun by not giving him the support he needs to pay for the site and as much as anything, the support to enjoy the site he helped set up. I've heard that a lot of you do not have the money to help out. So help out in other ways by insuring that you are playing the game here as it was set up to be, its about "Teamwork." If on the other hand you can pay but have not done so, do so on a regular bases or stop playing here. We should not expect Kil to make up the difference each month because we decide to spend our money elsewhere when we could help out here.

I just dropped off my donation. As a Christmas present to those who couldn't make a donation, I've added a little extra. I encourage everyone (everyone who can) to donate. The environment that the "Team" has created is pretty unique in this game genre. I've tried running my own small BF2 server. Eventually I gave it up. I can only imagine the amount of time and effort that goes into running something of this size. I hope that the Team keeps it up and that the enjoyment returns. (Hmm...Maybe you can use your server and forum to earn a Masters or Doctorate in human psychology.) Thanks for letting me and my pals play on your server.

Good deal ISirius! I'm sure it will be much appreciated!
I just wanna say, I have played here for a long time without donating, and I always felt bad about it, and still do. I can only try to make up for it by at least giving $5 a month. I will try to make a commitment to pay at least $5-10 a month from here on out. It really is hard times for a lot of people these days, so I can understand the lack of interest in paying money to a website that host BF2 servers for us. I think this thread is a "wake up call" to everyone (especially after reading Kil's post) how important it is to donate. No one wants to loose a good thing when they got it, and I just hope TN stays around for a very long time. This place depends on us, so its a matter of how much we all want it to survive!
Please donate!

I know you know what your talking about, because you have done this for so long. I still have hope though! :D Look how long it took me to finally give in a payment. Thank goodness I had the little $ I had to donate, but it was way over due!!!!! I don't wanna see this place disappear like others have, so to me its worth giving something even if its not much. It's on my shoulders now to at least give a minimum payment each month! I will try my best to comply with that!

I think something to keep in mind is that for all this time kil has not hounded any of us about payment and has shouldered it all. I'm glad he posted his honest feelings because we all need to have a wake up call. out of everyone I do understand the being out of work - I haven't had a job since April and Dan has had three days of work this month and it has been like this for months. we all prioritize and get that pop or candy bar or star bucks coffee which in itself is like 5 bucks.... team provides so many things for us while we are out of work and kind of keeps our mentality up in this depression . lets see what a real TEAM can do.

I sent a donation. I won't join the $10 a month club, because I have a habit of sending in a larger donation every 5-6 months or so. I wish there was a way to set up auto payments from paypal. Anyone know if this is possible?

The reason I never donated yet (yes I admit it and I'm sorry) is PayPal. I don't trust this organisation, I don't have an account there and I will not create one. Furthermore I don't have a credit card (credit cards are very unpopular in Europe) and will not let PayPal access my bank account. Had a conversation with Patrick_Sommer yesterday and we have the same opinion. Money is usually payed by bank transfer (and cash of course) in Europe. Maybe there's a way to make bank transfer (SWIFT) possible. Or maybe I will find a friend with a Paypal account.

OK - now I guess you've all made me look like a real freakin' tard. Way to go ! All the years I've been doing this I've never seen the donation bar at 100% before, so I owe everyone at least a big "Thank You!" Sadly, to me anyway, a few new people made donations last night and this morning, but for the most part the same 6 or 8 people stepped up and simply donated more than they usually do, but I guess maybe that's a start. What I'd like to see is a $1/month social club with 275 people in it, and I guess in a perfect world that might actually happen, but in our world I suppose this is more than good enough.

I think people needed to hear/see just how you felt about this situation to get the reaction you got. There are plenty here who care about you and the site. Yes a $1.00 a month club would be nice. However in place of that Guano did start the $10.00 a month club and is getting members. Others could start a $5.00 club if they would like. The sites success has brought other issues with it and unfortunately they are not always positive ones.
And its a big "Thank YOU" to you Kil for this site.

Goal amount for this month: 275 USD, Received: 275 USD (100%)
Thats awesome!
For the ones who don't have a credit card maybe you could look into prepaid credit cards.
A prepaid card functions like any other debit card. The main difference is that the funds on the card are not linked to a card holder bank account. Rather, the cards are issued by a bank and money loaded on to the cards is held at that bank, even though the card holder does not have an account at that bank.
This way you can use paypal without any worries. Honestly, I've been using paypal for close to a decade now and have had no problems (knock on wood).

It would be more comfortable for the users and more reliable for the Nitro-team, to arrange a subscription at paypal. I don't know, how it works but I know, that paypal offers this kind of payment, because I already had such a subscription.
Thx to all other members & the Nitro-Team

I've been using PayPal practically since the day they opened and have never had an issue with them. They collect some outrageous percentage of each transaction they process for you, so they have no reason to be dishonest. I've posted a mailing address a few times in the past, but i'm sure those posts are gone now. I'll try to get it written right into the donation page for anyone who prefers to mail something in.

The website software has a subscription feature built right in, but I never saw a point in using it. Maybe I should take a better look at it. You can offer subscribers access to forums that regular users cannot use, but that seemed like a rather useless incentive to me. Maybe some ideas here as to "benefits" to being a subscriber would help? For starters, I think anyone who subscribes over a certain amount each month gets put on the Reserve List in the games, so they don't have to wait to get in?
Now quit your bitchin' and have a crappy holiday LMAO
Now - I have to assume this is directed at me . . . . .
I have just one thing to say about this comment, but out of respect for the others here I'll have to leave the details up to your imagination you #!*%#~%*!^!
